About Me

Hey folks,

Thanks for visiting my site!  I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you here, and hope that you find it valuable.

A little about me, I’ve been working in data and analytics my entire career, spanning over 20 years now.  I’ve done a little bit of everything; modeling, governance, light ETL and data engineering and visualization.  I spent most of my career working in the travel industry, doing revenue management for airlines and hotels.

About 2014, I discovered Tableau and my passion for visualizing data really took off.  Besides making my own job easier, Tableau opened doors for me to try new things.  Once I was exposed to the community around Tableau, I knew that it would be a major focus for me.  The amount of energy surrounding this piece of software was infectious, and I wanted to be a part of that.  You can read a bit more about my journey here.

Today, I’m a Principal Analytics Consultant with Daugherty Business Solutions, focusing on self-service analytics using tools like Tableau and Alteryx.  I love it because I get to teach curious professionals and organizations how to unlock the power of their own data every day.  You’ll also find me leading up the Twin Cities Tableau User Group with several other awesome rockstars.

In this blog, I’ll be sharing my own experiences, reflections and tips that I’ve picked up along the way.  And probably some breakdowns of my own Tableau Public vizzes.  It’s my small way to contribute and give back to a community that’s given me so much.
